Goals

This is a One Name Study to collect together in one place everything about one surname and the variants of that name. The hope is that other researchers like you will join our study to help make it a valuable reference point for people studying lines that cross or intersect.

Task List

Here are some of the tasks that I think need to be done. I'll be working on them, and could use your help:

  • Study historical data for the Palatine Migration from Europe to the North American colonies in the early to mid-1700's. Search ship's passenger lists for family members and develop those connections.
  • Assist others who wish to document their personal Noe / Noah / Neu family line.

I'm new to WikiTree but have been working off and on in regards to my Noe ancestry for several years. I believe my line to be as follows:

Bonnie Noe (1899 - 1935) (my Gmother in Greenville Co SC) Peter Franklin Noe (1852 - 1933) (b. Grainger Co Tn; moved to Greenville Co SC) Jonathan L Noe (1805 - 1878) (b. Grainger Co Tenn; died Hamblen, Co Tenn) John Noe (1773 - 1856) (B. Guilford Co NC; died Grainger Co Tenn)

Hi Don.

Your earliest ancestor listed is brother to my 4GG Joseph Noe, Jr. Their father was Joseph Noe (b. abt 1750, British Colonial America; d. bef 1830, Grainger Co. TN). Joseph was the youngest son of our original immigrant ancestor Peter Noe, an enigmatic figure that has thus far proven exceedingly difficult to source. What we do know can be viewed on the Noe-809 profile page.
